Individual vs. Team Sports For North Chicago Kids

There are growing numbers of kids in the Libertyville area involved in team sports. Participating in these activities can be a very positive experience for North Chicago kids. They can enhance health and fitness, social maturity, and even cognitive development.

Food Allergies In Highwood Children

Food Allergies In Highwood Children The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology estimates that around eight percent of U.S. kids are affected by food allergies.

Eight foods account for most children’s food allergies in North Chicago: eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, nuts, and wheat. Strawberries and tomatoes can also cause food allergies in young Highwood kids, though generally not in adults.

Type and severity of allergy symptoms in North Chicago kids vary, but may show up as itchy eyes, nose or throat, trouble breathing, gastrointestinal upset, or hives.

If you suspect your child may have a food allergy, keep a food journal of everything he or she eats (including beverages) for a week to show your Lake Bluff pediatrician. To confirm the diagnosis, your doctor may scratch the skin with a small amount of an allergen to observe the reaction.

Fun Peanut Butter Snacks For North Chicago Kids

Healthy, growing children need to snack between meals for proper nutrition. Most Libertyville parents have probably had the experience of forgetting an afternoon snack. What happens? Kids finally notice they’re hungry about an hour before dinner, and boy is it hard to wait!

A great snack ingredient is peanut butter. It is an inexpensive source of protein and calories and gives Libertyville children the nutrients they need to grow and to stay healthy.

Here are some great healthy snack ideas using peanut butter for Highwood and Lake Bluff kids.

Peanut Butter Banana Pops

Bananas, cut in half width-wise
Popsicle sticks
Peanut butter
Chopped nuts, sprinkles, or other topping

Take the popsicle sticks and push them carefully into the cut bananas. Spread peanut butter over the bananas and roll in nuts or other topping. Freeze. Enjoy.

Peanut Butter Balls

This is the kind of recipe you can’t really mess up, and the portions are approximate.

about 1 cup of peanut butter
a few tablespoons of honey (2-3)
a few tablespoons of instant dry milk

Mix everything together until it forms a large ball. Pinch off small pieces of dough, and roll into ball shapes. Store in the refrigerator, and pull them out at snack time.

Of course this was only the administrative headquarters, the heavy equipment was kept elsewhere.

I was impressed by this thrifty home business owner who said she had no plans to rent space and increase her operating costs as her company grew: she loved her little closet office and made it work.

Some new team members recruited from the corporate world are initially skeptical about being able to run their business from a small home or apartment. Today’s article is about working in a small home office.

Think of yourself as an astronaut in a cockpit with all the controls at your fingertips. How is a cockpit organized? There are buttons and switches on every level, but all accessible.

  • Get a desk that fits your space. Corner desks can free up space not ordinarily used.
  • Office chairs with rollers let you easily access items within arm’s reach without having to stand up.
  • Shelves, shelves, shelves! Use all that prime vertical real estate on your walls.
  • Get a paper shredder and use it.

Turn Your Car Into A Mobile Libertyville Office If you are a busy North Chicago home based business owner, you may have noticed that your work-at-home job has turned into a work-in-car job. I have been operating a direct marketing business out of my Libertyville home since February 2010, but I spend a considerable amount of time on the road in the 60048 zip code area.

One day, I realized that the back seat was covered with Xocai Sipping Coco samples, the floor was covered with Xocai Xe brochures, and the dash was covered with sticky notes.

Next I had to tackle the little stuff: paper clips, sticky notes, and pens. I found that cup holders can be great organizers.
